The voatsiperifery pepper grows wild in Madagascar’s rainforests and is so tough to get a hold of because its vine rises up to 30m high and the fruits rise towards the sun in the tree canopy. Meaning it can only be foraged, it can’t be farmed, thus leading to its scarcity and it being called one of the rarest peppers in the world
